
History of Our Firm
Hon. Thomas Feinman and Professor Jack M. Platt have nearly 90 years of legal experience and expertise between them. In early 2021, they decided to join forces to offer professional, ethical, and effective legal representation to their clients and prospective clients in many different types of legal matters. Feinman, Platt & Associates PLLC is affiliated with numerous outside attorneys who, when necessary or suitable, can and do provide excellent and effective representation, as well. Our firm works closely with outside counsel to assure that clients receive prompt excellent, professional, personal attention. From time to time, in appropriate situations, certain cases may be referred to experienced and able outside counsel.
Hon. Thomas Feinman

Hon. Thomas Feinman has served sixteen years as a Justice of the Supreme Court of New York State, before retiring on December 31, 2020. As a Justice, he earned an outstanding reputation as a trial judge. Judge Feinman has presided over thousands of civil cases, including all types of personal injury cases, medical, dental, and legal malpractice cases, falls, pressure ulcers, bed sores, labor law and construction accident cases.
Prior to ascending to the New York State Supreme Court bench, Judge Feinman was a District Court Judge for six years, handling thousands of criminal cases from beginning to completion.
From 2005 to 2018, Judge Feinman taught various law courses at Hofstra University as an adjunct assistant and associate professor in the Department of Legal Studies.
Before becoming a judge, Justice Feinman was engaged in the private practice of law for over twenty years, representing clients in personal injury accident cases, criminal defendants and major league baseball clients in various matters, including salary arbitrations. In private practice, Feinman’s firm was highly regarded, and he developed an excellent reputation as a trial lawyer, at one point scoring twenty-one straight favorable jury trial verdicts.
Judge Feinman also served three years as an assistant district attorney in Nassau County, achieving recognition as a senior county court trial attorney prosecuting all types of violent felonies as well as white collar crimes. (January 1976 – December 1979)

Jack M. Platt

Jack M. Platt has practiced law in New York State, since 1978, with an emphasis on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and the preparation, drafting, and negotiation of business agreements and documents. Our firm shares offices with other lawyers whose areas of practice complement ours. Where necessary or useful, depending upon the client or the matter, we assemble a team of lawyers and professionals with relevant expertise to provide appropriate representation.
Professor Platt has taught law school courses to upper class law students for 17 years, has given annual lectures in acquisitions and mergers at another prominent law school, in New York City, and participated in presenting seminars at the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
Prior to 1986, Mr. Platt practiced corporate and securities law with the prestigious New York City law firms of Shearman & Sterling; Kramer Levin Nessen Kamin & Soll; and Gordon Hurwitz Butowsky Weitzen Shalov & Wein. Highly regarded in the legal community, Professor Platt is frequently called upon by his peers to provide analysis, creative advice, and assistance in complex matters relating to corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and drafting, reviewing and negotiating business agreements and materials.
